Introduction

This document library has been compiled to serve as a knowledge base, providing easy access to all material published by the Georges River Golf Club, and material used by its Committee, employees and members in the smooth and successful completion of its business processes.

Constitution

The Georges River Golf Club is an Incorporated Association.

An incorporated association has its own legal identity separate from its members, providing protection to members in legal transactions.

An incorporated association can:

  • enter into and enforce contracts, including the ability to hold, acquire and deal with property
  • sue or be sued
  • continue regardless of changes to membership.

While there are benefits to be gained from incorporation, there are also obligations. For example, incorporation requires the payment of application fees and requires the association to maintain proper financial and membership records and registers.

Welfare Policy

GENERAL

In line with Golf NSW policy, Georges River Golf Club is committed to ensuring that members may participate in our sport in an environment that respects the worth, dignity and equality of opportunity of all, regardless of status, ability social, and personal circumstances.

Every member has a "Duty of Care" to ensure that, as far as is reasonably practicable, that the health and safety of themselves, fellow members, visitors and staff are not put at risk while participating in our sport.

POSITION STATEMENT ON CHILD PROTECTION

In line with Golf NSW policy, Georges River Golf Club is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of any young people who participate in our sport. We support the rights of young people and seek to ensure a child-safe environment is maintained.

Georges River Golf Club acknowledges the valuable contribution made by members who are engaged in a volunteer capacity to assist with junior members and expects anyone involved in a role such as a coach, manager or mentor to complete the appropriate State Government Working with Children Checks (WWCC).

SPECIFIC PROTOCOLS
  • In all competitions conducted by Georges River Golf Club, a minimum of two adult members must be present with juniors.
  • In all training - including practice rounds - when not accompanied by a parent and/or guardian, the junior must be accompanied by a minimum of two adults.

Privacy Policy

The Georges River Golf Club Incorporated is subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act 1988. The Act contains the Australian Privacy Principles that set standards for the handling of personal information. The Club has a commitment to privacy and the safeguarding of member, visitor and staff personal information.

Any personal information provided by you to the Club (e.g. name, address and contact details), will be protected. The Club does not disclose your personal information to any other organisation or person unless there is a legal requirement to do so. The Club may also disclose personal information to relevant authorities if it reasonably believes that there is a threat to an individual’s life, health or safety, or public health or safety. If the Club has reason to suspect that unlawful activity has been, is being or may be engaged in, personal information may be used or disclosed as a necessary part of any investigation and reporting to relevant persons or authorities.

Your personal information may be used by the Club for promotional purposes to improve our services and to provide you with the latest information about those services, any new related services and promotions. If you do not wish to receive information about services and promotions, the Club, on request, will remove your name from mailing lists.

You have a right to access any personal information that the Club may hold about you, including a right of correction of your information. The Club will not charge a fee for you to access your personal information.
